JAEA Reports

Survey of G-value (Hydrogen)

*

PNC TN8420 90-005, 27 Pages, 1990/04

PNC-TN8420-90-005.pdf:0.73MB

The liquid wastes that are generated in a reprocessing facility are stored in vessels. These liquid wastes contain radioactive materials, therefore hydrogen is produced by the radiolysis of the liqiud wastes. For this reason, we studied the reports on G-value of hydrogen by water radiolysis. The results of our studies are su㎜arized in this document. As the results of this studies, we found that the G-value of hydrogen by water radiolysis which was used to analize the hydrogen explosion events in vessels is greater than that of plant-scale experiments. This means that the analyses of hydrogen explosion events in vessels have the safety margines. We thought that it was nesessary to cut the unessential safety factors under the usage of the more realistic G-value of hydrogen by water radiolysis which was acquired in plant-scale experiments. Now, Power Reactor and Nuclear Fuel Development Corporation (PNC) is serving Japan Nuclear Fuel Service Company, Ltd (JNFS) with PNC's High-Level-Liquid-Waste vitrification technologies for the purpose of JNFS's Application for Designation of Reprocess Business. As part of this, we su㎜arized the results of our studies on G-value of hydrogen by water radiolysis.
